 Sheffield Oaks 44 - 17 Wetherby

Sheffield Oaks played at home against Weatherby to settle scores after a  close fought loss at the end of last season.  Entering into the match with a three match winning streak Sheffield added another to the tally making it 4 wins on the trot with a final score of 44 - 17.  Another fine display of free flowing rugby allow Sheffield to put in seven tries and moves them into postion to challenge for the top of the league table.

The game was a pleasure to watch was said to have kept the crowd on their feet for the whole game!!  Despite a few small mistakes the game was held firmly in control by the Oaks.  Try scores were Geoff Crossland 2, Mark Fretwell 2, Dave Mitchell, Simon Littlewood, Andy Selkirk.  3 conversions and 1 penalty by Jimmy Feetam.

Man of the Match - Kevin Guthrie

Golden Moment - Geoff's finishing was top class for both his tries, though this wasn't quite as spectacular as Kev's catch give and run round from the back of a lineout that led to the fourth try (it was awesome, I promise). Who says Second Rows are all donkeys?

D.O.D - Whoever decided it would be a nice idea to pain the rugby lines in the red, and subsequently anyone who touched down three metres short following the white football markings...

So long, fare well, auf wiedersehen, good bye - Geoff Crossland - after finding his groove out on the wing he is now heading around the world for six months.... Deserter.
Redefining the word retired - Dave Mitchell, who doesn't seem to be aware that retiring means he's not supposed to play anymore.
